Lifetime Achievement award to Om Puri



 
 
Om Puri, the veteran Hindi film actor, who is known for performing offbeat roles in both Bollywood and Hollywood, will be receiving Lifetime Achievement award at International Film Festival of Prayag, Allahabad. The event will be held on Feb 28, next year.

The 65 year old who is followed by a major fan base throughout India and abroad has already fetched the prestigious Lifetime award at 2009 Filmfare Award and Padamshri, India’s fourth highest Civilian award for his remarkable contribution in film industry.

“It will be a matter of great honor for us to welcome a personality like Om Puri who will be receiving the Lifetime Achievement award from us,”  festival director Abhishek Arun said in a statement.

Om Puri is a Punjabi born talent and a graduate from Film and Television Institute of India, Pune and the National School of Drama, Delhi. He has featured in a number of projects like Arohan, Ardh Satya, Gandhi, East is East, My Son The Fanatic, among others.
